Heqing Huang graduated fromPeking University Health Science Center in 1987. She currently is an Associate Professor of chemical biology. In addition, she is the editorial director andexecutive deputy editor of Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences (JCPS), vice president of Returned Overseas Chinese Federationof Peking University Health Science Center, member of the editorial work committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Society, and vice president of the worker’s union of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Teaching and Research
She has been teaching undergraduate courses of pharmacy,basic medicine, clinical medicine, preventive medicine and others. From the years of teaching experiences, she has developed her own teaching style and gained high remarks from her students. In addition, she has revised the teaching materials and improved the laboratory courses for undergraduate students. She also led the project on teaching reform “The reformof class and lab courses for the education of creative talents”. She was awarded the first prize of “Peking Universityteaching achievements” in 2004, the first prize in the competition of “Young college teachers lecture of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences” in 2002, and the “Excellent teacher of Peking University Health Science Center” in 2006. She was also awarded the title of “The first female teacher”in Peking University Health Science Center.
Her research interests cover carbohydrate chemistry and peptide drugs. She has published over 10 papers and applied for several patents.
Editorial experience
Since 2005, she has been the executive deputy editor and editorial director of Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences. Under her leadership, the journal has made great progresses in expanding the readership, increasing manuscript quality, and improving circulation and internationalization. She obtained the “Editor Certificate”issued by the General Administration of Press and Publication in 2006, and the “Chief Editor Certificate” in 2009 and 2014.
Awards
1. In 2012, 2014 and 2015, it was awarded the title of “Excellent academic journal of China’s international influence” (CNKI, ranking TOP 5-10% of scientific and technological journals);
2. The second prize of excellent paper on scientific and technological journals of Chinese universities in 2013;
3. In 2014, Heqing Huang won the “Excellent editor-in-chief award of Chinese university medical journals” by Society of China University Journals;
4. In 2013, 2015 and 2017, it won “The 2nd, 3rd and 4th China university science and technology periodical outstanding website award” by Society of China University Journals;
5. In 2015, it won “The first English periodical with Chinese university characteristics” award by Society of China University Journals;
6. In 2015, it won the prize of excellent paper on scientific and technological journal research of Chinese universities;
7. In 2017, the editorial department was selected as “Excellent team of Chinese university science and technology journals” by Society of China University Journals; Heqing Huang won “Excellent editor-in-chief of science and technology periodicals of Chinese universities”.
Funded projects and published papers on scientific journals
1. The impact and countermeasures of the implementation of the major scientific and technological special project of “New drug development and manufacture”on the development of Chinese medical scientific and technological journals in 2012;
2. 2013-2015 “International influence promotion plan for Chinese science and technology journals”category C project (1.5 million yuan);
3. In 2014, the project fund of “China science and technology periodical engineering project” of China Association for Science and Technology (120,000 yuan);
4. She has published 18 related papers and 12 conference reports in domestic professional journals of scientific writing and pharmacy.
